EVENT DESCRIPTION

Instructor: Mary Alice Braukman

Mary Alice's workshops are an adventure in risk-taking and pushing the medium as far as it will go. One goal is to explore new ideas in mixed water media and collage, and to show visual growth in your art through self expression.

Your unresolved paintings will be revived and recycled when you ask, the question “What If . . .?” This could mean completely revising you’re painting or using it in a collage piece. That is the fun part of painting - that is designing!

Whether working abstractly or representational each painter will be encouraged to find his or her unique and personal direction.  We will explore layering of experimental mediums, photo transfers, and collage in depth striving for results that go beyond obvious techniques and leave people wondering how you created such a gem.

Collage is a medium that is continually transforming, subsiding, leaping into unexplored        areas, and growing.  Artists explore abstract, representational, semiabstract and nonobjective imagery through a variety of collage techniques.
